About per piece
Product description
This diya is a standing brass peacock oil lamp with an S-curve stem, a hanging brass bell, and a shallow bowl with a wick lip. Turquoise, coral-red, and dark-blue rectangular stones are set along the curve as decorative mosaic. The bird rests on a four-legged carved base with a stone-ringed platform.
The mosaic is craft-stone inlay, not certified precious gems. An antique gold finish darkens the carved recesses and brightens the raised metal. The bell rings when the piece is moved.
Use vegetable oil and a cotton wick indoors, on a heat-safe surface, and never leave a flame unattended. It can also sit unlit on a shelf, console, or gift tray. It is a decorative indoor lamp, not a temple murti, toy, or food-contact object.
Handmade production means slight variation in carving, antique highlighting, and stone placement from piece to piece. That variation is expected.
Sourced in India and offered by Altus Exports as a finished retail piece. Suitable as a housewarming or festival gift, a craft accent for a living room, or a small cultural object for hospitality.

The craft
The Story Behind Moradabad Brass
Moradabad, in Uttar Pradesh, India, is the country’s best-known brass-artware cluster. Generations of artisans cast, carve, engrave, and polish brass for lamps, bowls, figurines, and giftware sold worldwide. Decorative stone mosaic on brass is a later gift-market language on that same metal tradition.
This peacock diya sits in that vocabulary: an S-curve bird, a hanging bell, a shallow oil bowl, and a compact export scale suited to international retail, pooja gifting, and wellness boutiques.

What Buyers Say
How commercial buyers describe the handmade sample piece.
“The stone mosaic and hanging bell read immediately as a luxury pooja object, not a souvenir stall. Eight inches is easy to merchandise on a gift wall.”
— Importer, USA
“Customers pick it up for the peacock curve, then stay for the turquoise and coral-red stones. It sits well next to our other Indian brass without duplicating the filigree-tail diya.”
— Home Décor Retailer, UK
“Clear Moradabad craft story without overclaiming. We placed it beside the solid brass peacock as the gemstone counterpart.”
— Museum Shop Buyer, France
“Right scale for a console or pooja shelf. The bell is a nice touch, and the packing arrived intact.”
— Hotels & Resorts Buyer, UAE
“Useful as a single accent — antique brass, a working bell, a shallow oil bowl. Slight stone variation is exactly what you want in handmade metalware.”
— Interior Designer, Australia
