About per coaster
Product description
This set is six matching round coasters in Jaipur Blue Pottery. Each disc carries the same Royal Turban motif: a stylised Rajasthani pagri with fine fold lines above a thick, upward-curling moustache filled with a cobalt check pattern, and a simple chin line — no eyes or mouth. A solid cobalt rim frames the ivory glaze.
Jaipur Blue Pottery is made from a quartz-frit body — powdered quartz, glass, and natural gums — not ordinary clay. Pieces are moulded, hand-painted in cobalt, and low-fired to a glossy glaze. The result is lightweight ceramic tableware with the classic indigo-and-white palette of the craft.
Use them under glasses or a tea cup. The underside has a felt-style backing so the ceramic does not scratch a table. The SKU is listed as microwave and dishwasher safe; for daily care, wipe with a soft cloth.
Handmade production means slight variation in line work, glaze tone, and rim paint from set to set. That variation is expected.
Sourced in India and offered by Altus Exports as a finished retail set. Suitable as a housewarming gift, a craft accent for a tea table, or a small cultural object for hospitality.

The craft
The Story Behind Jaipur Blue Pottery
Jaipur Blue Pottery is a ceramic tradition associated with Jaipur, Rajasthan. Its lineage runs to Persian ceramics brought to India through Mughal patronage and later refined in Rajasthan’s royal ateliers. The body is distinctive: a quartz-frit paste of powdered quartz, glass, and natural gums, rather than ordinary clay. That body is lightweight, slightly translucent, and resistant to cracking.
Each piece is moulded, hand-painted in luminous cobalt on an ivory ground, and low-fired to a glossy glaze. Once used in tiles and courtly décor, the craft now appears as contemporary tableware. This Royal Turban coaster set carries that visual language — a stylised pagri and moustache — into a compact export SKU.
