Financial Assistance and Incentive Schemes Through HEPC

The Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) plays a pivotal role in promoting Indian handloom products in international markets. Established in 1965, HEPC operates under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and is dedicated to supporting handloom exporters through various financial assistance and incentive schemes. These initiatives aim to enhance the global competitiveness of Indian handloom products, ensuring the sustainability and growth of this traditional sector.

Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme

The MAI scheme, administered by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, provides financial assistance to promote exports on a focus country and focus product basis. Eligible entities include export promotion organizations, trade promotion organizations, national-level institutions, research institutions, universities, laboratories, and exporters. The scheme supports activities such as marketing projects abroad, capacity building, support for statutory compliances, studies, and project development. This comprehensive approach ensures that Indian handloom products gain better access to international markets, thereby increasing export potential.(Hepc India)
